The Trajectory Language is based on Chikaoka’s (2012) 8-stage classification (A: Initial Heating to H: Room Temperature Cooling) and redefines it as a more general-purpose language. "heat-up" corresponds to Stage A (initial heating), "soak" to Stage B (temperature homogenization), "peak" to Stage D (holding at peak temperature), "crash" to Stage E (rapid cooling), "anneal" to Stage F (holding at slow-cooling temperature), and "cool" to Stages G and H (slow cooling to room temperature). “Stage C (rapid heating)” is a special interval for passing through the decarburization zone and corresponds to the latter part of the heat-up stage. By combining this trajectory language with the η-T-t framework, any firing program can be visualized in terms of “which viscosity regions it passes through.”
