The SDF50 (Silky Diamond File 50) is a flexible diamond file that uses ultra-fine diamond grit (equivalent to #50). Because the abrasive grains are finer than those in standard diamond files and the base material is flexible, it can produce a smooth finish without damaging curved surfaces, complex shapes, or fine edges. It is particularly well-suited for the final hand-finishing of glass fusing pieces.

The SDF50 is a file designed exclusively for final finishing and should not be used for major shape corrections or rough grinding. The correct way to use it is for final touch-ups after the shape has been established and rough grinding has been completed using an intermediate-grinding file or a standard abrasive file. Using it with water helps maintain its sharpness and reduces the risk of scratching the glass surface.
