When creating a new color scheme, I start with small color samples. I check how the colors turn out in a test firing before moving on to the final piece. My sample book is my most reliable guide.
For new color combinations, we first test them on small pieces (color samples) to check the reactions and how the colors blend before moving on to the final production run.
Cut two colored pieces and two clear pieces, each 3 cm long and 1.5 cm wide. Arrange the colored and clear pieces side by side, then stack them with the top pieces laid horizontally and the bottom pieces vertically—this makes it easier to understand.
When creating a new color scheme, start with a small color sample. A test-firing piece measuring 1 to 2 cm square is sufficient.
If you check how the colors turn out before the actual shoot, you can avoid major mistakes.
If you keep a record of your firing programs, combinations, and dates, you can refer to them later. A sample book is an asset you can use for a lifetime.
