Fiber board is a thick (approximately 5–15 mm) sheet made of ceramic fibers. It is lightweight and easy to work with, and is cut to size and used as a sagging mold or as a support frame (dam) when firing thick pieces.
Protective gear is required because dust is generated during processing.
